About The Position

Fidelity Investments is seeking a Director of Software Engineer in Test, who has a blend of deep software engineering and software testing experience and identifies opportunities to leverage Generative AI to reduce manual test authoring effort and expand test coverage. This role will drive test engineering strategies across multiple customer products to accelerate delivery velocity while elevating product quality. In addition, the role will have 10-18 direct reports and dotted-line relationships with team members in India. The technical area of expertise required is broad and includes supporting applications ranging in the following: front end customer facing, mobile and web based, content, communication, vendor supported, and data analytics platforms.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience implementing Customer Experience, API and / or Mobile based test solutions
• Extensive experience in developing and implementing program level test strategy across integrated systems
• Expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining data quality frameworks
• Knowledgeable with end-to-end DevOps automation with CI and CD pipelines including unit, component, functional, performance, and security test automation
• Expertise in using mock frameworks and service virtualization
• Good knowledge of resiliency software engineering and observability patterns
• Certifications in, or working experience with, AWS/Azure
• Deep, hands-on experience with Generative AI coding tools, including GitHub Copilot, for accelerating test development, test coverage analysis, and code review within engineering teams
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of building trusted partnerships and relationships at all levels of the organization
• Proven expertise in hiring and identifying top engineering talent

Responsibilities

• Drive test engineering strategies across multiple customer products to accelerate delivery velocity while elevating product quality.
• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop people and teams.
• Champion a Copilot-first engineering culture, including defining team-level standards of AI-assisted test authoring, prompt engineering for test generation, and responsible use guardrails.
• Define governance and quality standards for AI-generated code and test artifacts, ensuring maintainability, security, and accuracy across the team.
• Evaluate emerging GenAI capabilities, roll out GitHub Copilot adoptions across the chapter, and establish metrics that demonstrate the impact of AI tooling on test velocity, coverage, and quality outcomes.
