About The Position

Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Director, Software Engineer in New York, New York to work on software development projects and coordinate feature testing, present evidence and proofs of concepts, acquire user signoffs on finished items, and present demo functionality to users. Create action items based on user queries and business requirements. Conduct requirement analysis on backlog items. Engage with business users on preferences, deadlines, and requirements. Participate in Scrum meetings (planning, standups, reviews and retrospectives). Develop and implement new features that adhere to Firm requirements using proprietary tools. Prepare, supervise, and conduct regular maintenance and/or out-of-cycle software releases. Provide application support on- and off-hours. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field of study. Employer will accept a 3 year foreign degree.
  • Three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years as an Associate, Analyst, or a closely related occupation.
  • Three (3) years of experience with Java EE and Spring
  • Three (3) years of experience with Scala
  • Three (3) years of experience with UI design
  • Three (3) years of experience with Angular
  • Three (3) years of experience with High-volume, asynchronous, observable, and high-availability distributed systems design
  • Three (3) years of experience with Publish/Subscribe (Pub/Sub) based asynchronous messaging systems
  • Three (3) years of experience with Queue based messaging systems including IBM MQ
  • Three (3) years of experience with Relational databases including Sybase and IBM DB2
  • Three (3) years of experience with Database change tracking and management tools including Liquibase
  • Three (3) years of experience with Document-oriented databases including NoSQL and MongoDB
  • Three (3) years of experience with Containerization tools including Docker
  • Three (3) years of experience with CI/CD including Git and Jenkins
  • Three (3) years of experience with Agile workflow including Scrum
  • Three (3) years of experience with Build tools and build automation including Gradle
  • Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience
