Director, Software Development
About The Position
Navitus Health Solutions is seeking a Director, Software Development to provide overall leadership and direction for the software development team. The team is evolving legacy applications into modern, supportable applications. The Director will apply Agile practices and collaborate across the organization to deliver an outstanding customer experience and positive outcomes on time and within budget. The role leads and develops software development managers, establishes a department accountable for high-quality code, and sets and evolves software development strategy in light of modern technologies, including Artificial Intelligence. The Director works with product, delivery, architecture, infrastructure, project management, and application business owners, and communicates team progress and performance to technical and non-technical stakeholders. The position is remote for residents of the states and Washington, DC listed in the posting. The stated schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or another relevant technical field, or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of IT management experience, including direct leadership of software development teams.
- Experience with modern technologies, architectures, and Agile development methods.
- Experience with cloud-first development and microservice architectures or strategies.
- Experience using Artificial Intelligence tools to improve development organization efficiency and delivery accuracy.
- Experience with .NET, SQL, Angular, Oracle, React, or similar technologies.
- Experience with tools such as Jira and Azure DevOps.
- Experience managing and applying Agile methodologies.
- Experience with projects involving advanced automation testing frameworks and performance testing methodologies.
- Experience managing measurable success in delivering quality software that meets business needs using Agile methodologies.
- Ability to interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees.
Responsibilities
- Focus on execution, follow-through, accountability, and results.
- Lead people by helping the team do its best work through hiring and performance mentoring.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and leaders from Agile Delivery, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, and the Navitus Enterprise Project Management Office.
- Build relationships with application business owners to deliver software that meets internal and external customer needs.
- Manage and develop a team of managers responsible for software development.
- Develop and maintain an accountable department that delivers high-quality code.
- Stay current with modern software development technology, including Artificial Intelligence, and establish and evolve the software development strategy.
- Establish and deliver KPIs and metrics for managing and reporting performance.
- Communicate the progress and status of development teams to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
