About The Position

This role is for a growth-minded Social Media and Creator Marketing Director to lead one of the most influential brands on the internet. The position involves managing McDonald's social media presence, engaging with fans, and staying on top of cultural trends. The Director will be responsible for setting the strategy and creative vision for social campaigns, building culture-led activations, defining the creator strategy, and measuring campaign performance. The role is part of the US Marketing department and reports to the VP of Brand, Content & Culture. The Director will lead a team of six, including themselves, and collaborate with internal talent and external agency partners.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise across social platforms, both paid and organic.
  • Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional partners, including Legal.
  • Understanding of the modern customer and the value of a strong community over vanity follower counts.
  • Ability to build a distinct social media presence across platforms that resonates with fans.
  • Proficiency in analyzing business data, building social plans that align with long-term priorities, and extracting insights from data to adjust strategies.
  • A strong pulse on culture and social media trends.
  • Valuing long-term community building over shock value.
  • Belief in the power of creators and building a collaborative space with them.

Responsibilities

  • Setting the strategy and creative vision for McDonald's most important social campaigns, both organic and paid, across all platforms in the US business.
  • Building culture-led campaigns and always-on activations that earn mass attention.
  • Defining the creator strategy alongside PR and Media teams, focusing on genuine brand fans and building an always-on creator collective.
  • Measuring campaign performance by analyzing KPIs, translating data into insights, and optimizing for brand affinity.
  • Partnering with creative and media agencies to execute significant campaigns.
  • Collaborating daily with internal influencer teams and cross-functional partners, including Legal.
