The NBCU Local Multiplatform team is seeking a strategic, data-driven Social Media Director to expand the reach of our journalism and improve monetization across key social media platforms including Meta, TikTok, and YouTube. This role will play a pivotal role in our local newsrooms’ approach to transforming social journalism through shortform video. This Director, social media will have the ability to influence both strategy and execution across a diverse and dynamic portfolio, and be responsible for ideating and delivering scalable strategies that enhance reach, relevance, revenue, and audience engagement. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of YouTube, podcasting, and platform-native storytelling. This leadership role sits on our central Multiplatform Team, reporting directly to the VP of Audience Development, working across the NBC and Telemundo local stations and Regional Sports Networks. This role will work closely with our local newsrooms and centralized Editorial, Product, Research, Marketing teams and more. The ideal candidate is an analytical and creative leader with deep platform fluency, editorial excellence, and a strategic mindset. Fluency in both English and Spanish is not required but is a strong plus.
