About The Position

Odyssey Therapeutics is propelling drug development beyond what is now possible to deliver medicines that address critical needs of patients with inflammatory and immunology diseases. We achieve unprecedented speed and efficiency by bringing together a target-centric approach, a toolbox of cutting-edge technologies, and a team of accomplished, world-class drug hunters. By reimagining the drug development process, we are creating a deep and broad drug pipeline that holds the potential to transform human health. The opportunity: We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative medicinal chemist to join our Drug Discovery team. Working alongside biologists, computational chemists, and structural biologists, you will drive programs from initial screening through hit confirmation and into hit to lead / lead generation. You will work in a highly cross-disciplinary, fast-moving environment, drawing upon your deep medicinal chemistry expertise to prosecute screening campaigns and guide the translation of screening hits into drug-like leads. You will possess strong scientific judgment, a track record of innovation, and the drive to tackle problems that others have not been able to solve. As a key member of our chemistry team, you will have the opportunity to shape program strategy, contribute to our scientific culture, and have direct impact on the discovery of new therapeutics. We pride ourselves on having a talented, collaborative team with a broad range of expertise. Together with your colleagues, you will help define the scientific direction of new, early-stage drug discovery programs.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree in organic or medicinal chemistry, with 7+ years of relevant drug discovery experience in the Biotech/Pharma industry
  • Extensive hands-on experience developing and executing hit-finding strategies spanning traditional and emerging high-throughput screening techniques, including affinity-based, biochemical, fragment-based, covalent and cell-based formats
  • A track record of successfully identifying high-quality hits across a variety of target classes, including traditionally hard-to-drug proteins, and advancing programs critically and efficiently into hit to lead / lead generation
  • Deep expertise in structure-based drug design, hit to lead / lead generation progression strategies and criteria, with command of instrumentally enabling chemoinformatic and computational tools and approaches (e.g., virtual screening, docking, FEP, QSAR, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Design, lead, and execute multi-faceted screening campaigns from ideation through hit confirmation and into hit to lead
  • Develop strategies and collaborate with colleagues across enabling sciences, structural biology, biology, chemistry, computational chemistry, data sciences and non-clinical development to efficiently advance programs
  • Interpret and analyze results, present key data, and make strategic recommendations in cross-functional project team meetings and other settings
