We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, street active Director of Sales to lead a high-performing team of sales professionals. In this role, you will grow a sales territory by executing sales strategies and utilizing sales goal tools. This position will provide an opportunity to utilize your management skills in a territory representing tens of millions of dollars in sales. The Director, Sales should come with a strong belief in and passion for the overall value proposition associated with life safety products and the ability to translate that passion into the effective promotions of ASSA ABLOY product solutions.

  • Can lift/carry up to 50 lbs. of sample and display material for sale presentations.
  • Bachelor’s degree (preference for specialization in related curricula such as: sales, business, architectural design/engineering, construction science/management, or similar) or have work experience commensurate with, minimum high school/GED diploma.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the door and hardware business or related industry (i.e. building products, access control), with a minimum of 3 of those calling into the contract distribution channel and 1 – 2 years in a managerial role with responsibility for directing staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Utilization and maintenance of CRM tools and other industry-related software for sales and activity reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a staff of approximately 15 employees and manage a budget of several million dollars.
  • Develop and execute sales strategy for the territory in close cooperation with senior management.
  • Direct others on sales goals and activities.
  • Interact with and make sales calls to key decision makers and influencers in the contract hardware arena including distributors, architects, general contractors, construction managers, and end users.
  • Present senior management reviews with territory results during monthly review meetings.
  • Holding regular staff meetings.
  • Build and maintain a high-performance team by hiring staff, evaluating and coaching employee performance, supporting appropriate training and development methods, and team building.
