About The Position

The Director, Safety Program and Training is responsible for leading the successful planning, development, and execution of strategic corporate safety and training programs across MV Transportation. This role involves overseeing the development of safety programs and communications, ensuring they meet quality and compliance standards, and incorporating technological advancements into training. The Director will also collaborate with various teams to develop training programs, support business development requests, and enhance the overall safety culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree Required
• Five (5) + years’ experience developing and delivering safety and/or operations programs and training in transit or related industries.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
• Demonstrated experience in enhancing safety culture, leading and lagging safety performance indicators.
• Ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development of safety programs and communications that build safety brand awareness and promote frontline engagement.
• Develop Safety and Training communications, including breakroom discussions, alerts, and lessons learned based on insights from leading and lagging indicators and event learnings.
• Ensure a cadence of functional communications with the Safety and Training organization to update on initiatives, performance, and other related topics.
• Ensure that all Safety and Training communications meet corporate brand standards and that reviews of external communications have been validated by Corporate Communications.
• Serve as the lead to maintain https://mvtransit.sharepoint.com/sites/mvsafety content by ensuring periodic review and refresh of content as required.
• Ensure safety and training programs meet quality and compliance standards established by federal, state, and local laws, client regulations or requirements, best practices, and internal and external customers.
• Support the development and implementation of best practices in training and operating standards to ensure efficient and effective training programs are being administered.
• Incorporate technological advancements (e.g., simulators, e-learning) into training to enhance effectiveness.
• Ensure consistent development of training and train the trainer programs for Drivers and Safety and training staff on Safety Programs and processes.
• Support the development and execution of a set of KPIs related to training that provides insight into the overall execution of safety training initiatives across MV Transportation.
• Lead the development and management of corporate safety programs as required by regulations, clients or executive leadership.
• Administer and coordinate responses for safety requirements and programs in relation to requests for support from Business Development.
