About The Position
We are seeking a Director of Safety & Compliance to lead enterprise-wide safety, compliance, corporate security, and risk management programs across our growing 3PL organization. This leader will drive a proactive safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance across warehouse and transportation operations, and reduce overall risk exposure. This role reports to the Chief HR & Compliance Officer and partners closely with Operations leadership to balance safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- 7+ years of leadership experience in safety, compliance, or risk management
- Strong expertise in OSHA and warehouse safety environments
- Experience leading teams in multi-site or operational settings
- Proven ability to build and implement safety and compliance programs
- Ability and willingness to respond to safety, security, or operational incidents outside of standard business hours
- Availability for emergency calls and incident response as needed to support a 24/7 operation
Nice To Haves
- Experience with FMCSA/DOT compliance
- Exposure to claims management (WC, GL, PD, BI)
- Experience with corporate or physical security programs
- Professional certifications (CSP, CIH, COSS, etc.) are a plus
Responsibilities
- Own all OSHA compliance across warehouse operations
- Drive injury prevention programs, incident investigations, and safety training
- Ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance across multiple facilities
- Provide oversight of DOT/FMCSA compliance programs
- Ensure adherence to driver qualification, hours of service, drug & alcohol, and fleet safety requirements
- Monitor regulatory changes and maintain audit readiness
- Lead physical security, access control, and loss prevention initiatives
- Oversee incident investigations and facility risk assessments
- Oversee general liability, property damage, and bodily injury claims
- Partner with insurance carriers and brokers to mitigate loss exposure
- Analyze trends and implement preventative strategies
- Lead a team of functional leaders across EHS, DOT compliance, security, and compliance
- Establish accountability, performance standards, and scalable processes across multiple sites
