Requirements

  • Requires excellent communication skills, analytical ability, strong judgment and management skills, and the ability to work effectively with client, IT management and staff, vendors and consultants.
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and at least six, typically eight or more years experience in risk management and governance related to Technology environments or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the Technology Risk Governance and Risk Reporting team. Establishes performance standards for the unit. Conducts the performance management process, identifies training and career development needs.
  • Run monthly Technology Risk committee, including preparation for the meetings / stakeholder engagement, facilitation of meetings, tracking of actions / challenge log items and interactions with other committees / working groups.
  • Run a Technology Risk advisory forum to triage and vet technology risks. Support escalation of material issues and risks to relevant committees and help to drive informed decision making and robust risk mitigation.
  • Facilitate periodic first line Technology risk reporting and integration with central risk management teams for enterprise risk processes.
  • Determines staffing needs, makes hiring and firing decisions, handles salary administration, and ensures resources are available to accomplish priorities. Develops and manages diversity programs and programs for the unit.
  • Participates in developing the business unit strategic plan and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit. Follows through to ensure that objectives are met.
  • Develops unit(s) budget and manages the expenses for the unit.
