About The Position

The Director, Revenue Cycle & Patient Management Applications is responsible for the strategic leadership, implementation, optimization, and support of all technology solutions supporting Patient Management and Revenue Cycle operations across PAM Health. This role serves as the primary liaison between operational business leaders and the Information Systems organization, ensuring technology solutions effectively support patient management and admissions functions, registration and ADT workflows, case management processes, billing and claims operations, reimbursement activities, finance/budgeting, and revenue integrity initiatives. The Director leads application strategy, vendor management, project delivery, operational support, and a team of analysts and implementation specialists while driving innovation, automation, and process improvements that enhance patient experience, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and financial performance.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Computer Science, or similar extensive experience.
Minimum 5-7 years of healthcare information systems experience supporting revenue cycle and patient management applications.
Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience managing teams, projects, and enterprise initiatives.
Experience supporting EHR platforms and integrated healthcare applications.
Expert understanding of healthcare Revenue Cycle and Patient Management workflows from registration through reimbursement.
Strong knowledge of admissions, patient management, case management, HIM, billing, claims processing, reimbursement, and revenue integrity operations.
Experience with EHR systems, healthcare interoperability, HL7, EDI transactions, SFTP processes, claims automation, and healthcare integrations.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
Experience with AI, workflow automation, and emerging healthcare technologies.
Ability to translate technical concepts into operational business language.
Strong executive presence and presentation skills.
Proven ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong financial, project management, vendor management, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Information Systems, or related discipline.
Revenue Cycle or Healthcare IT certifications.
Experience with post-acute care, rehabilitation, acute care, or hospital-based healthcare organizations.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary liaison between Revenue Cycle, Patient Management, Finance, and Information Systems leadership.
Partner closely with executive leadership, including Revenue Cycle, Operations, Clinical Leadership, and the CDIO organization, to align technology strategy with business objectives.
Develop and execute long-term technology roadmaps supporting patient management, registration, billing, collections, reimbursement, and revenue integrity initiatives.
Evaluate and recommend innovative technologies, automation opportunities, and AI-driven solutions to improve operational performance and financial outcomes.
Lead portfolio governance activities, prioritization efforts, and strategic planning initiatives.
Maintain comprehensive understanding of the healthcare revenue cycle from patient registration and admission through final payment resolution.
Provide oversight and support for Patient Management, Admissions, Registration, Insurance Verification, Authorization, Case Management, HIM, Billing, Claims Management, Collections, and Revenue Integrity applications.
Collaborate with revenue cycle leadership to maximize net patient revenue, improve cash flow, reduce AR days, and enhance overall financial performance.
Analyze claim denials, reimbursement trends, and operational workflows to identify technology-driven improvement opportunities.
Ensure applications support regulatory, payer, and reimbursement requirements.
Direct implementation, optimization, maintenance, and support activities related to Revenue Cycle and Patient Management applications.
Maintain portfolio documentation, system inventories, operational metrics, support processes, contracts, and implementation records.
Oversee application lifecycle management, upgrades, integrations, enhancements, and vendor relationships.
Provide strategic and operational oversight of all technologies, including system administration, configuration governance, release management, upgrades, and ongoing optimization.
Partner with Finance and operational leaders to support enterprise budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, cost accounting, management reporting, and performance improvement processes.
Establish governance for data definitions, workflows, security roles, integrations, and reporting to promote data integrity, consistency, and appropriate access across the enterprise.
Manage vendor relationships, licensing, support escalations, roadmap planning, user adoption, training, and measurable realization of business value.
Support archival solutions and integration of acquired facilities and legacy systems.
Conduct annual application security and compliance reviews in partnership with Information Security and Compliance teams.
Ensure development and maintenance of policies, standards, and procedures related to supported applications.
Lead enterprise-wide implementations, upgrades, integrations, acquisitions, conversions, and optimization initiatives.
Coordinate cross-functional project teams, vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, issue resolution, resource allocation, and executive reporting.
Support hospital openings, acquisitions, and operational integrations through planning, training, onsite support, and stabilization activities.
Oversee implementation methodologies and ensure successful transition of projects into operational support.
Manage vendor evaluations, selection processes, contract negotiations, renewals, and performance reviews.
Maintain productive relationships with EHR vendors, clearinghouses, revenue cycle partners, and third-party software providers.
Ensure contractual obligations, service level agreements, and renewal timelines are monitored and managed appropriately.
Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Procurement teams throughout contracting activities.
Direct, mentor, develop, and evaluate Revenue Cycle and Patient Management application teams.
Establish department goals, performance standards, and development plans.

Oversee creation of training materials, workflow documentation, and system education programs.
Support data analysis efforts related to billing, admissions, charges, reimbursement, and operational workflows.
