About The Position

In this role, you’ll shape the future growth of BECU by driving enterprise-wide business development strategies that expand market presence, strengthen partnerships, and grow membership. You’ll influence how and where BECU shows up in communities through new branch expansion, high-impact programs, and strategic B2B initiatives. Your work will directly contribute to measurable growth in deposits, loan volume, and brand reputation. By collaborating across Retail Delivery, marketing, Finance, and executive leadership, you’ll help turn insight into action. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • 8 years of progressive leadership experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or financial services.
  • 5 years of people leader experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of Retail Delivery business development strategies that align with BECU’s long-term strategic plan and deliver measurable growth outcomes.
  • Drive new branch growth through market analysis, business case development, and launch execution to support expanding member access.
  • Identify emerging markets, member segments, and partnership opportunities, using market intelligence to inform data-driven decisions.
  • Own membership growth and revenue targets across designated programs in support of retail plans.
  • Provide regular performance updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Retail leaders to forecast, track, and optimize business development contributions to organizational KPIs.
  • Oversee Workplace Banking, Community Reputation Program (CRB), and Union Banking initiatives to deepen relationships, increase acquisition, and enhance brand visibility.
  • Lead planning and execution of grand openings and other high-profile events that strengthen community engagement.
  • Manage and expand affinity partnerships while developing new B2B opportunities aligned with BECU’s mission.
  • Represent BECU in executive-level engagements with business, civic, and community leaders.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of growth initiatives.
  • Identify and evaluate innovative business models, fintech partnerships, and digital expansion opportunities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought leader on growth strategy and market positioning.
  • Develop operating plans and budgets, including compensation projections and KPI planning, across all areas of responsibility.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop your team through regular feedback, performance evaluations, and ongoing support.
