About The Position

Restaurant Brands International Inc. (RBI) is a global leader in the quick-service restaurant industry, owning iconic brands like Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen (PLK). The Director, Restaurant Technology, will be instrumental in shaping the strategic direction and technical architecture for Popeyes restaurants in the Americas. This role requires a forward-thinking individual to drive innovation and lead the execution of technology initiatives across Point of Sale, Back of House, and Digital platforms. The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams, manage vendor relationships, and ensure the successful delivery of technology solutions that enhance both crew and customer experiences.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of overall experience designing, developing, and supporting hardware, software, and network technology decisions.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, related field, or equivalent on the job experience.
  • Experience leading and developing technical staff in the design, quality assurance, and implementation of technology solutions.
  • Experience working with Restaurant or Retail Technology platforms such as POS, Labor Scheduling Tools, and Back of House.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary project portfolios.
  • A relentless drive to innovate.
  • A sense of urgency while being detail-orientated and hands-on.
  • A high comfort level of navigating emerging channels both within and outside of the technology space to identify how to improve our crew and customer experiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Define technology solutions for Popeyes restaurants spanning Point of Sale, Back of House, and Digital technologies, working with cross-functional digital and technical teams.
  • Lead the development of assigned technology initiatives, ensuring stakeholder priorities are identified, validated, optimized, and communicated.
  • Ensure Quality Assurance processes, including manual and automated testing, are executed according to industry best practices for reliability and performance.
  • Manage vendors/partners to build innovative and sustaining technology solutions with modern architecture.
  • Maintain the cross-functional technology project portfolio spanning Digital and Restaurant technology workstreams.
  • Provide weekly and ad-hoc updates on new technology requests and project portfolio to executive leadership.
  • Review and re-establish the technology standardization and enhancement lifecycle from request through completion.
  • Partner with technology deployment teams to ensure proper handoff between design/build, QA, and restaurant deployment.
  • Ensure all technology communications are disseminated via relevant channels at the appropriate time, with proper cadence, and include necessary information for training and support.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.
