About The Position

This position ensures high-quality, cost-effective health care for respiratory care and neurodiagnostic services across Luminis Health. Provides clinical, operational leadership, and strategic development for areas of responsibility. Collaborates with other initiatives and supports department leaders and clinical initiative leadership in program planning and implementation of strategic organizational and departmental goals and objectives. Exemplifies Luminis Health’s leadership framework of Team, Change, Business (TCB) and assists with achieving goals and objectives aligned with Luminis Health’s Mission, Vision, and Values. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Coordinates clinical services and processes that guide patients through the continuum of care, which includes clinical policies (pathways, protocols, guidelines, and standards of care), case management processes, patient-focused delivery models, multidisciplinary care conferences, documented patient flow processes, and patient education. Assumes organizational responsibility for staffing and documentation systems, including continuous assessment of staffing patterns, implementation of changes based on assessment, market analysis for adequate recruitment and retention, and implementation of strategies to address recruitment and retention issues. Implements a management structure and processes that foster a culture of collaborative and interdisciplinary decision-making and continuous process improvement. Monitors and assesses the quality of services provided to the defined patient population, identifying and prioritizing areas of improvement. Manages clinical leadership in strategic planning, program development, and capital expenditures. Review market research and recommend promotional and other marketing activities consistent with market needs, including market pricing strategies. Performs budget analysis by assessing trends in departmental budgets, implementing strategies to meet budget expectations, and forecasting expenses and revenue for future budgets. Collaborates with direct reports on employee relations and staff development and maintains active membership in the respiratory therapy professional organization (American Association for Respiratory Care – AARC) Demonstrates knowledge of all applicable legal, regulatory, and policy requirements, including laws and regulations about patient billing and the practice of Respiratory Care, Electroencephalography, and Intra-Operative Monitoring as outlined by the respective State of Maryland Boards, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, The Joint Commission, The College of American Pathologists. Act as a change agent to guide process improvement by supporting improvement initiatives in collaboration with direct reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field from an accredited college or university
  • Five years related clinical experience in an acute care hospital, three years of which include supervisory experience.
  • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification
  • Registered Respiratory Care (RRT) Practitioner with the NBRC.
  • Current Maryland RCP license or ability to obtain upon hire

  • Master's Degree in a health-related field from an accredited college or university, preferred.
