About The Position

This position is located at our Co-Occurring Group Home in Midland City, AL. The role involves planning, designing, organizing, operating, and supervising the day-to-day operations of the Co-Occurring Program, ensuring compliance with SpectraCare policies and the Alabama Department of Mental Health Substance Abuse Division. Key responsibilities include staff supervision, client development and safety, managing admissions, discharges, and treatment planning, and coordinating with the clinical director on client care. The position also involves budget preparation, resident finance management, providing therapeutic services, and partnering with nursing staff for medication monitoring. Documentation will be managed through an electronic health record system. This role requires on-call status, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work or related Mental Health field with successful completion of a relevant clinical practicum, or a Master's Degree in Psychiatric Nursing with current ABN license
  • Must have at least (2) years post masters experience in a direct service position
  • Completion of a clinical practicum
  • Must be willing to obtain substance abuse counselor within (30) months of hire from the Alabama Association of Addiction Counselors, National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors, Alabama Alcohol and Drug Association or International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium/Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse, Inc. if not already certified.
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Travel may be required within the catchment area and/or statewide to meet program and training needs

Nice To Haves

  • Licensure as an LPC, LICSW or LMFT in the State of Alabama is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, organize, operate and supervise the complete day to day operations of the CoOccurring Program, under policies and procedures of SpectraCare while operating in compliance with the Alabama Department of Mental Health Substance Abuse Division.
  • Supervising staff, client development and safety; supervising admissions, discharges and treatment planning and coordinating with the system's clinical director concerning substance abuse and mental illness treatment of clients in the program.
  • Preparing and carrying out budgets for the program
  • Managing the resident finance program
  • Providing therapeutic services to consumers of the home
  • Partner with nursing staff to monitor the medication program
  • Use an electronic health record system to document and maintain consumer records
  • Position will require on-call status to include nights, weekends and holidays based on program needs
