About The Position

The labs of Dr. Anke Huels and Dr. Donghai Liang at Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health are seeking an experienced program director to manage a funded NIH research project focused on air pollution exposure and its impact on dementia risk. The Huels Lab specializes in the environmental and molecular epidemiology of Alzheimer's disease, with a specific interest in air pollution. Dr. Liang leads the Environmental Metabolomics and Exposomics Research Group at Emory (EMERGE), which utilizes high-throughput omics approaches to assess multi-dimensional exposures and investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying health responses to environmental mixtures.

Requirements

A PhD, DrPh, or other equivalent degree (MD).
Five years of directly related work experience.

Nice To Haves

PhD and relevant postdoc training in omics science.
Proven experience in project management, particularly with large-scale research projects of research centers.
Experience working with grant management, preferably NIH.
Expertise in using project management software, e.g., MS Project.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience working in interdisciplinary teams.
Experience managing projects related to environmental health or neurodegenerative diseases.
Background in public health or related field.

Responsibilities

Functions as the principal investigator, co-principal investigator, or project director of sponsored projects.
Has primary authority over the conduct of a project including protocol development and adherence, human subjects, personnel management and budget oversight.
Publishes study results as first author or co-author.
Supervises other project staff.
Functions as the primary programmatic liaison with the sponsor.
