About The Position

Huntington National Bank is seeking a Director-level Relationship Banker to originate and execute project financing, structured financing, and debt advisory within the project finance and infrastructure segment. This role is crucial for Huntington Bank’s Structure Finance group and offers the opportunity to play a leading role in building and evolving this new growth business. The Banker will be responsible for knowledge leadership in this sector, building new client relationships, and maximizing client income. The role operates in a dynamic and demanding environment requiring proactivity, flexibility, and discipline in all aspects of the job, from pitching and structuring to execution and monitoring. The Banker is responsible for achieving commercial objectives centered on revenue delivery, cost management, and loss minimization.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.
10+ years of client coverage experience in the project finance sector, including selling, originating, and executing traditional lending products, as well as cross-selling more complex capital markets products.
Strong understanding of power, renewable, midstream, and infrastructure industry drivers, market dynamics, and industry regulations.
Deep client network in the power, energy, and infrastructure sector and established relationships with law firms, engineering firms, and other businesses supporting the industry.
Strong financial modeling skills.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence across functional areas to resolve complex issues.
Strong interpersonal skills which foster teamwork, trust, creativity/innovation, and accountability.
Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and insightfully.

Responsibilities

Leading project finance debt financing across sectors such as power, renewable energy, energy-related assets, midstream, and infrastructure, including Public Private Partnerships (PPP).
Originating and executing project finance transactions.
Pitching, deal negotiation, financial modeling, liaising with third-party counsel and advisors, debt structuring, equity analysis, investor appraisal, and documentation execution.
Acting as the lead structuring/execution deal captain for tailored project finance transactions.
Originating, structuring, and executing transactions in the role of deal captain.
Achieving projected core lending revenues.
Building a portfolio of sponsor/developer clients.
Playing a leading role in supporting cross-sell targets.
Relationship account planning, prospecting, client networking, and pipeline management.
Documentation negotiation, deal closing coordination, exercising portfolio control, and maintaining dialogue with portfolio managers, senior risk officers, and credit departments.
Active portfolio management and financial resource planning.
Prioritizing the long-term interests of customers and Huntington.
