About The Position

We are seeking a highly strategic, results-driven Director, Regulatory Affairs to lead and advance the regulatory strategy for a diverse Animal Health portfolio in Canada. This senior leadership role is accountable for end-to-end regulatory oversight, ensuring accelerated product approvals, sustained compliance, and optimized lifecycle management to support business growth. As a key member of the Canadian Animal Health leadership team, this individual will serve as the principal regulatory authority, shaping both local and global strategies, influencing senior stakeholders, and driving excellence in regulatory execution, governance, and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, or related discipline (advanced degree preferred)
  • 10+ years progressive regulatory experience within pharmaceutical, biologics, or animal health sectors
  • 3 years experience in a people management role
  • Deep expertise with Health Canada frameworks and product lifecycle management
  • Knowledge of regulatory bodies such as Canadian Animal Health Institute and Canadian Food Inspection Agency
  • Proven leadership in complex submissions and multi-product strategy
  • Experience operating in global, matrixed organizations
  • Fluency in French is required

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute forward-looking regulatory strategies across development, registration, and lifecycle management
  • Anticipate and interpret evolving Canadian regulatory requirements and policy trends
  • Serve as trusted advisor to senior leadership, integrating regulatory insights into business strategy
  • Lead complex regulatory submissions (NDS, DIN, biologics, etc.) ensuring quality and timeliness
  • Ensure full compliance with Health Canada regulations and global standards
  • Drive proactive risk management, regulatory intelligence, and inspection readiness
  • Act as primary liaison with Health Canada and regulatory authorities
  • Lead negotiations to secure efficient approvals and favorable outcomes
  • Represent the organization within industry associations and regulatory forums
  • Build and lead a high-performing, engaged Regulatory Affairs team
  • Develop talent and succession pipelines
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Partner across Commercial, Technical, Quality, Supply Chain, and Legal functions
  • Represent Canada in global regulatory governance and strategy forums
  • Drive alignment across global and regional stakeholders
