About The Position

HCT seeks an experienced nurse professional to serve as the Interim Director of Quality & Safety for a 250+ bed hospital in California. This role involves providing leadership and strategic direction for Quality, Performance Improvement, and Patient Safety programs. The Director will ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting requirements and alignment with organizational goals across medical staff, nursing, and support services. A key aspect of the role is partnering with medical staff and organizational leaders to assess, monitor, and continuously improve the quality and safety of care, utilizing performance data and evidence-based practices to drive measurable outcomes. The Director will also lead organization-wide quality and safety initiatives and strategic improvement efforts, promoting excellence across key domains including safety, effectiveness, efficiency, patient-centeredness, equity, and timeliness of care.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing required.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in quality in an acute care setting with progressive leadership responsibility in healthcare quality/performance improvement.
  • Thorough understanding of Joint Commission standards, state and federal standards, value-based purchasing initiatives, readmission reduction and hospital acquired conditions programs, core measures and HCAHPS.
  • Epic experience required.
