About The Position

d-Matrix is seeking an experienced quality and reliability leader to own product, supplier, manufacturing, and customer quality; reliability engineering; and component engineering for AI hardware platforms spanning ASICs, cards, servers, racks, and clusters. The role is accountable for quality, reliability, field performance, and customer confidence for high-performance AI systems deployed at data center scale. The position operates across hardware engineering, manufacturing operations, supply chain, and customer relationships, embedding quality and reliability into design, supplier, and manufacturing decisions. d-Matrix is shipping first-generation Rack Scale products in volume. This hands-on leadership role will build and lead a team to achieve world-class quality, reliability, and availability performance. The role owns the Quality Management System and audit readiness; product quality and reliability engineering; supplier and manufacturing quality; customer quality processes such as RMA, reverse logistics, failure analysis, and escalations; component engineering for board-level products and above; and quality metrics and executive reporting. The Director sets quality strategy, standards, and outcomes, while collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Test, and Supplier and Partner Management teams that execute within that framework. The Director will build and scale the QMS across ASIC, card, server, rack, and cluster-level products; develop closed-loop RMA and failure-analysis processes; lead reliability programs and fault-tolerant design; establish supplier and manufacturing quality programs; lead component qualification and lifecycle management; define quality KPIs and dashboards; and represent quality in product release, shipment readiness, customer audits, and escalations. The role also hires and develops the quality organization for volume shipments and Rack Scale solutions. The position is hybrid, with onsite work at d-Matrix's Santa Clara, California headquarters three days per week.
