The Director, Public Interest Careers and Pro bono supports Stetson University College of Law by: Increasing/expanding the reach, range, depth, accessibility, and understanding of public interest careers available to Stetson Law students, establishing a scaffold and map for public interest law professional identity formation and for securing a public interest career. Applying creativity, researching other law schools, and building bridges and connections to a range of external organizations and potential partners and resources to transform the offerings Stetson can offer to students aspiring to change the world and build a future. Developing and implementing targeted career planning strategies, tools, and resources that serve purpose-driven and civic-minded students and graduates seeking a public interest career launch, including those that may require funding, support, and broad-based alumni involvement. Ensuring that students exploring the public interest sector are able to access clear pathways, supportive mentors, competent advice and information, and events, programs, and conversations that satisfy their needs. Building strong relationships with influencers and trailblazers and others who can help advance the public interest cause. This will require participation in national organizations and hosting forums, guest speakers, and other visible events.
