Director, Provider Operations

9amHealth
Hybrid

About The Position

9amHealth is redefining cardiometabolic care with a first of its kind, whole body approach to preventing and treating diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, and hypertension. Founded in 2021 and backed by top tier investors including 7Wire Ventures, Human Capital, Founders Fund, and Define Ventures, we deliver custom care plans, fast medication delivery, and expert guidance that empower patients to live healthier lives. We believe AI enabled health services will be among the biggest winners of this technology shift, and we’re building accordingly. We already use AI across the product: member facing agents, clinical copilots, automated triage, intelligent care workflows. Our goal is to bring the cost of healthcare down dramatically while providing an incredible experience for both our members and clinicians. AI isn’t a feature on our roadmap, it’s how we think about every feature on our roadmap. We’re a Series B company with over 200 people, growing fast. Our product and engineering team is distributed across the US and Austria, and we’re scaling it significantly. The Role We are seeking a Director of Provider Operations to serve as the strategic and operational owner of our provider organization. This leader will own the full provider lifecycle—from hiring and onboarding through engagement, performance, and retention—and build the systems, strategies, and experiences that enable providers to deliver exceptional care at scale. This is a highly cross-functional, high-impact role at the center of our business. You will define how we build, deploy, support, and retain our provider network across W2 and 1099 models, ensuring we have the right providers, in the right places, at the right time—while creating a best-in-class provider experience.

  • Design and continuously improve a best-in-class provider experience, including community, feedback loops, and engagement strategies.
  • Establish and track key metrics (satisfaction, engagement, retention, tenure) and translate insights into operational and product improvements.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to build provider-facing experiences that improve efficiency and reduce friction
  • Monitor provider performance metrics in collaboration with Clinical Operations and Quality leads and assist in providing feedback and performance coaching as it relates to quality of care, productivity, and efficiency
