About The Position

The Director of Proposal Management is a strategic leader responsible for transforming opportunities into winning business. Leading all aspects of proposal management, this role drives the creation of persuasive, high-quality RFX responses and proposals that showcase EPS Learning's value and support revenue growth. This role oversees and executes on the day-to-day bid and contract operations; partners with Sales and cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate opportunities, manage timelines, assign resources, ensure compliance, and support proposal follow-up activities; and maintains the systems, content, and vendor relationships needed to strengthen proposal quality, operational efficiency, and business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, education, journalism, communications, or a related field required; advanced degree or equivalent leadership experience preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in proposal management, RFP/RFX response development, bid strategy, and complex sales support, including experience leading high-value or strategically important pursuits.
  • Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end proposal development processes, aligning cross-functional stakeholders, managing competing priorities, and driving teams toward compliant, compelling, on-time submissions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate priorities, build trusted relationships, influence senior stakeholders, and translate complex requirements into clear proposal strategies.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and project management discipline, with the ability to manage multiple complex, deadline-driven proposals simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and quality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, fully remote environment, including leading virtual teams, facilitating decision-making, and maintaining accountability across distributed stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with proposal automation, content management, CRM, contract management, or workflow systems preferred.
  • Prior experience with K-12 literacy curriculum, education technology, or instructional materials preferred, including an understanding of how educational products are sold, implemented, and supported.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end proposal development process, including opportunity review, proposal strategy, production planning, submission, and follow-up activities.
  • Develop goals, timelines, workflows, and objectives for proposal-related projects to ensure high-quality deliverables are completed on time and in compliance with client requirements.
  • Source, review, and analyze RFXs, and other sales opportunities to identify risks, requirements, strategic fit, and recommended pursuit priorities.
  • Direct proposal work by coordinating meetings and communications, assigning writing responsibilities, managing production schedules, and ensuring alignment across Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, Legal, Technology, Customer Support, and other stakeholders.
  • Drive proposal strategy and translate that strategy into clear, compelling, compliant responses in partnership with EPS’s subject matter experts that reflect client needs, product/program strengths, pricing considerations, and organizational differentiators.
  • Manage proposal logistics, including calendars, kick-off meetings, review cycles, content collection, production and costing schedules, final approvals, and submission requirements.
  • Support Sales team members with contract-related documents and questions, including renewal letters, certifications, tax forms, legal forms, evidence of insurance, employer verification, and customer- or contract-specific forms.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for proposal/procurement relationships and coordinate with external vendors, cooperative partners, and other third parties as needed.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve a database of standard proposal responses, product/program descriptions, supporting documentation, and reusable content using AI forward technology.
  • Train and support Account Executives, Regional Sales Leaders, and other internal partners on proposal processes, expectations, tools, and best practices.
  • Serve as a liaison with Customer Support, Technology, and other stakeholders for data privacy questions and customer requests related to bids, proposals, and contracts.
  • Monitor proposal performance, market trends, competitive questions, regulatory changes, and industry standards related to contracts, bids, and educational sales opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, vendors, cooperative partners, and external proposal collaborators.
