Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of professional experience; property tax, valuation, or accounting preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; strong problem‑solving capability.
  • Proven ability to direct and manage staff and lead cross‑functional efforts.
  • Strong organizational, research, and interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Lead assessment‑review strategies and represent clients during appeals and hearings with state and local taxing authorities.
  • Review and approve analyses that support DMA’s positions; ensure timely, accurate Reports of Findings and client communications.
  • Apply DMA valuation models and templates; determine prior client methodologies; identify exemptions and abatements; quantify tax‑savings opportunities.
  • Conduct and/or oversee on‑site inspections of client properties (plants and operations).
  • Drive business development: identify, scope, and develop solutions for prospective and existing clients; effectively communicate DMA service lines.
  • Manage key accounts: develop, sustain, and expand client relationships; ensure high levels of responsiveness and service quality.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to motivate team members; support performance management and career development.
  • Participate in talent acquisition to build a high‑performing team.
  • Ensure adoption of best practices and client‑service standards across the team.
  • Manage engagement economics: forecast production and revenue, contribute to budgeting and strategic planning, and focus activities on profit‑margin improvement.
  • Maintain accurate case, assessment, and jurisdictional data in DMA’s review management system; oversee production, billing, and invoicing.
  • Track and enforce jurisdictional deadlines for filings, audits, appeals, protests, bill mailings, and tax‑payment dates.
  • Participate in industry and DMA events as a speaker or panelist to enhance market awareness and provide client education.
  • Monitor market activity, legislation, and court decisions; brief clients and internal stakeholders on relevant developments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
