Summary: Reporting to the Claims Division Lead Director oversees Property Claims group to ensure compliance with various state statutes, regulations and policy form terms in the timely investigation, evaluation, reservation, and equitable settlement of claims for homeowners, dwelling fire, boat, BOPs, and umbrella lines of business.

Requirements

  • 20+ years of insurance claims experience
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal, written and time management skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to successfully work with all levels of the organization

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, other advanced degree, and/or insurance designation preferred.
  • 10+ years supervisory/management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sets division goals and objectives in accordance with corporate and department initiatives; coordinates available resources to facilitate measurable results.
  • Ensures compliance with internal standards and corporate objectives in conjunction with other Senior Claims Management.
  • Develops data measurements (KPIs) to monitor performance within the various assigned units to produce those measurements consistently and accurately.
  • Maintains technical expertise consistent with industry trends and technological advancements.
  • Selects, develops, and appraises assigned management staff; uses internal and external programs to increase the level of technical expertise within the group to define and communicate standards and performance expectations; provide on-going feedback and coaching.
  • Coordinates systems projects in conjunction with IT resources; facilitate testing, monitor installation, and produce required communication.
  • Develops data measurements to monitor performance within the various assigned units to produce those measurements consistently and accurately.
  • Participates with other Senior Claims Management in development, revision and implementation of the Catastrophe Plan including oversight of internal and independent adjusting staff resources.
  • Evaluates new products or services to improve operating efficiencies with the Property Claims Department.
  • Responsible for the protection of the companies legal and monetary interests by staying abreast of pertinent statutory, regulatory and industry activities.
