About The Position

WCF Insurance Company is seeking a Director, Project Management, to lead a mature Project Management Office, overseeing a portfolio of enterprise initiatives and managing multiple project managers. This role partners closely with the Transformation Management Office (TMO) on prioritization, aligns with IT and business leaders on resource planning, and ensures consistent delivery through effective project governance and methodology execution. The individual in this Director position will also lead select projects. This is a full-time, exempt position is part of the Information Technology Department and will report to the VP, IT Strategic Initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive project management experience, including leading teams and managing complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop project managers at varying levels of experience.
  • Experience partnering with business and IT leaders and contributors to align project delivery with business objectives.
  • Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and decision-making skills in fast-paced, changing environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including crisp presentations and status reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional project management certification such as PMP, PgMP, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 4-5 project managers to ensure consistent delivery and professional growth.
  • Oversee project portfolio planning, execution, governance, and reporting across IT and business initiatives.
  • Partner closely with the Transformation Management Office on prioritization of strategic and transformative projects.
  • Collaborate with IT and business leaders to plan, allocate, and optimize project and resource capacity.
  • Ensure consistent and effective application of project methodologies, standards, and best practices.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project and portfolio-level risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Provide clear, accurate, and timely executive-level reporting on project status, risks, and outcomes.
  • Directly manage selected high-impact or complex projects requiring senior-level oversight.
  • Drive continuous improvement of PMO processes, tools, metrics, and governance models and security requirements.
  • Close collaboration with Organizational Change Management to ensure process and toll adoption.
