As an organizational change leader, you will be responsible for a portfolio of projects that move Delta Dental of Washington (DDWA) forward in its vision for all people to enjoy good oral and overall health, with no one left behind. You will evaluate and solve difficult problems that impact the overall success using logical and analytical problem-solving skills. This role provides leadership on enterprise level programs and large-scale corporate projects, while also providing direct management of a Project Manager and a Business Systems Analyst. The successful candidate will strive to increase the effectiveness of the DDWA PMO’s processes and toolsets by collaborating with business partners, team members, other PMO resources, and staff to find opportunities to continuously improve throughput. As Manager, PMO, you will empower project teams by building morale and trust to support project implementations, overcome constraints, mitigate risks, and maintain leadership alignment while also leading complex, large-scale programs. The pay range for this position in Western Washington varies between$109,100.00 – $171,200.00 and for Eastern Washington varies between $87,500.00- $143,800.00 Washington Dental Service and its affiliates, including Arcora Foundation, Delta Dental of Washington, and TriForza Corp. intends to offer the selected candidate a base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher. Experience may substitute for a college degree.
  • 6+ years of experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives at scale, preferably large Enterprise systems (e.g., claims system, ERP, ERM, CRM) type initiatives
  • PMP certification preferred, knowledge of project management methodologies required
  • Previous experience leading and mentoring teams preferred
  • Experience in planning and handling business carve-out or merger/acquisition activities, preferred
  • Strong communication ability, capable of influencing and inspiring others to comprehend objectives and drive towards intended results
  • Experience with product methodology and LEAN methods including Agile development and continuous process improvement, preferred
  • Adaptable, self-starter with the ability to build structure out of ambiguity
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing circumstances, make decisions, and navigate projects and people through roadblocks
  • Comfortable with change and uncertainty; encourages the opportunity to try new things; innovative demeanor
  • Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in regulated industries is beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Develop organizational change strategies, communication plans, risk mitigation, and facilitate decisions in coordination with Sr. Leadership. 
  • Work closely with project sponsors, cross-functional teams, and project managers to plan and develop scope, results, timing, and resource plans.  
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with technical and non-technical individuals from TriForza product and PMO teams, Vendors, Delta Dental Plans Association (DDPA), and business partners. 
  • Work with project managers and key partners from across Washington Dental Service to identify, analyze, evaluate, and overcome risks, impacts and opportunities across multiple projects within the organization; ensure the health and success of projects and assigned programs.  
  • Align anticipated program and project outcomes with broader organizational goals and initiatives; “big picture thinking”. 
  • Serve as an inspirational leader who attracts and retains talent, creates high levels of energy and motivation throughout challenges and obstacles. 
  • Oversee the daily operations of the PMO team, build engagement, identify development needs, and provide stretch opportunities, mentor and coach team through talent and skill development. 
  • Lead and manage complex projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals and timelines. 
  • Directly oversee project planning, execution, and closing activities, including scope definition, resource allocation, and risk management. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes, proactively addressing issues and ensuring timely delivery of milestones. 
  • Develop and manage the budget for assigned programs and be accountable for delivering against established business goals/objectives
