About The Position

This role is for a Director, Project Leadership focusing on Compliance PM & ALD at Abbott, a global healthcare leader. The position involves leading the global Compliance PM & ALD portfolio, which includes CAPA, regulatory compliance, labeling changes, on-market product changes, and UDI initiatives. The individual will develop and execute portfolio strategies, roadmaps, and plans aligned with business and regulatory priorities. They will oversee interconnected programs, ensuring alignment of resources, timelines, risks, and deliverables, and drive successful execution through governance, risk management, and operational excellence. The role also requires assessing business, supply, compliance, and strategic impacts of key decisions. Additionally, the position involves leading global cross-functional programs across various departments and external partners, coordinating labeling, artwork, manufacturing, procurement, registration, and product launch activities, and ensuring the delivery of key milestones and objectives. The role also entails establishing portfolio governance, providing visibility into status, risks, and resources, driving proactive risk management, managing budgets, and leading a global team of approximately 40 Program Managers, Project Managers, Labeling Specialists, and contingent workers. The Director will foster accountability, collaboration, talent development, and continuous improvement, strengthen organizational capability through coaching and succession planning, and represent the function in executive reviews and leadership forums.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 7 years experience in program/portfolio leadership within a global, matrixed team, preferably including experience with consumer-focused medical or software products.

  • Cross-functional experience in the areas of R&D, Commercial, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, and Manufacturing
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards related to medical devices (eg FDA, ISO, QSR design controls).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead enterprise-level portfolios and influence senior stakeholders, and to collaborate effectively with global stakeholders across multiple time zones.
  • Deep expertise in governance design, operating models, and portfolio prioritization
