About The Position

ITT Engineered Valves, LLC is seeking a Director of Production for its Lancaster, PA facility. This role is responsible for the overall management, direction, and coordination of activities needed in the daily operation of specific departments. The Director of Production will have overall responsibility for safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) with an engineering or business major from a four-year college or university; seven to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise people in various disciplines.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Demonstrated analytical and synthesizing abilities.
  • Ability to effectively utilize word processing software and spreadsheets and to navigate and use and other custom applications software in a MS Windows environment.

  • Experience in a union production environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute manufacturing strategies to meet production, safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets across multiple product lines, with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and optimize key business metrics including revenue, cost, productivity, and inventory to drive operational and financial results.
  • Lead initiatives to improve product quality, streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency using Lean/CI principles.
  • Align workforce, capacity, and production schedules with customer demand to ensure on-time delivery and optimal resource utilization.
  • Ensure products meet engineering and manufacturing standards; lead root cause analysis and corrective actions internally and with suppliers.
  • Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing operations team; manage performance, engagement, and employee relations in partnership with HR.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Service, and other functions to resolve customer issues and improve lead times and service levels.
  • Evaluate and recommend investments in equipment and infrastructure to support operational excellence.
  • Develop and manage operational budgets and contribute to long-term strategic planning and forecasting.
