About The Position

Ensemble Health Partners is establishing a Product Program Management function, and the Director, Product Program Management will be responsible for building and leading this new team. The technology and innovation/product organization operates on an initiative/pod structure, with cross-functional teams managing products through a defined Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC). Product Program Managers are embedded within these product teams, ensuring consistent application of standards to deliver strong products that enhance revenue cycle operations. The Director will define the operational framework for this function, including team selection and onboarding, establishing playbooks and standards, and providing a portfolio-level performance overview.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product program management or product-oriented project management experience, including driving software or technology products through a full development lifecycle.
  • Direct people-management experience: hiring or selecting team members, developing them, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of programs, not just individual programs — including portfolio-level reporting, resourcing decisions, and cross-program risk management.
  • Fluency navigating a structured PDLC: gate criteria, phase transitions, and what a healthy program looks like at each stage.
  • Strong executive communication skills to present portfolio stories, escalations, or trade-offs to senior leadership.
  • Tolerance for ambiguity and a genuine interest in building a new function.
  • Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require.
  • Must reside and be authorized to work within the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience standing up or leading a PMO, program management, or product operations function.
  • Healthcare, revenue cycle management (RCM) experience.
  • Familiarity with product and delivery tooling such as Aha!, monday.com, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience working in an agile or similar scaled planning cadence.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a team of 3 to 5 Product Program Managers, assigning them to pods and setting performance standards.
  • Establish, improve, and enforce playbooks, templates, and norms for the Product Program Management team in partnership with Product Operations.
  • Aggregate and report on program health, risk, and value realization across all pods for TPI leadership.
  • Serve as the escalation point for issues that cannot be resolved by the team.
  • Manage leadership-level partnerships with Product Operations and Product & Innovation and Engineering leadership.
  • Lead 1-2 pods yourself.
  • Ensure the right people are on the right pods, consistent standards are applied across programs, and a portfolio view is available for leadership action.
