About The Position
The (USA) Director, Procurement leads strategic category management and supplier relationship initiatives to optimize cost, mitigate risks, and drive business performance for the eCommerce business units. This role oversees contract negotiations, financial analysis, and supplier performance to ensure alignment with organizational goals. The Director collaborates cross-functionally to develop data-driven procurement strategies, influence leadership decisions, and implement process improvements. By leveraging advanced analytics and market insights, the position supports sustainable sourcing and operational excellence while fostering strong partnerships that enhance value and support long-term business objectives. The Walmart’s Domestic Transportation Procurement Team leads strategic sourcing for a multi-billion dollar transportation spend across various networks including Truckload, LTL, Intermodal, and Final Mile. The team develops and executes sourcing strategies, manages supplier relationships, and oversees contract performance to ensure reliable and cost-effective supply chain operations. By conducting large-scale RFPs and optimizing capacity, the team supports Walmart’s commitment to operational excellence. Members apply strong skills in contract management, negotiation, category strategy, and financial analysis to drive value and maintain efficient transportation solutions aligned with business goals.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in procurement with strong expertise in contract management and supplier relationship management.
- Proven ability to develop and execute category strategies that optimize spend and mitigate risks.
- Advanced financial acumen to assess business impact, forecast changes, and maximize return on investment.
- Skilled negotiator with a track record of delivering favorable outcomes and maintaining long-term supplier partnerships.
- Proficiency in leveraging data analytics to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to influence stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, economics, technology, or related field and 6 years' experience in procurement strategy, contract management, analytics, or related field.
- 8 years' experience in procurement strategy, contract management, analytics, or related field and 5 years' experience leading cross-functional teams/projects.
