About The Position

Directs the overall operation of clinical practices by setting objectives, planning, staffing and directing activities. Ensures efficient, economic and quality performance to support ambulatory care in a clinical environment.

Requirements

  • Active Nurse Practitioner license required.
  • Experience and knowledge of managed care is required.
  • Ability to build and sustain new and existing relationships with clinicians, staff, patients, and other key stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead operational initiatives to meet or exceed service standards and expectations in assigned department(s) and/or across multiple areas in a timely and respectful manner.
  • Experience with strategic planning and assessment, and an understanding of programs that effectively promote success.
  • Demonstrated experience in using data to foster improvement.
  • Experience in methodologies of evaluation, assessment, statistics, and quantitative and qualitative data analysis; strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact with staff, and administrators at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Leads management teams for all aspects of clinical operations related to institutional clinics while ensuring patient safety, patient experience, financial metrics and related expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Recommends administrative policy changes and consults with and advises administrators and Practice Managers of problems related to operations.
  • Provides direct oversight to clinical management teams and collaborates with physician leadership in key areas including human resource management, process improvement, space utilization, and resource management to ensure successful operations.
  • Collaborates with practice management, department administrators, and department chairmen in developing the strategic plan for the practices.
  • Prepares practice budgets in conjunction with department administrators.
  • In conjunction with senior leadership, develops the mission, goals, policies and procedures for the practices.
  • Assists in formulating, interpreting and carrying out policies, especially those related to patient satisfaction.
  • In collaboration with practice management and department leadership, provides oversight to enhance and grow clinical operations.
  • Participates in projects and activities as appropriate.
  • Coordinates with various support services such as Technology Support, Revenue Cycle, and the Office of Human Resources as needed.
  • Management duties include interviewing, selecting and training employees; setting and adjusting pay rates and hours of work; planning and directing work; appraising productivity and efficiency, handling complaints/grievances and disciplining when necessary.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
