About The Position

This role balances operational leadership and strategic oversight across three core areas: Operational Excellence (SRE), Intelligent Operations, and People Leadership. The Director will oversee incident, problem, and change management, as well as disaster recovery exercises to maintain service level objectives for portfolio management and client-facing applications. They will drive production monitoring capabilities, including observability, alerting, and proactive testing. Continuous improvement initiatives, analyzing incidents, and implementing preventive measures are key. Ensuring systems maintain technology currency and compliance with security and regulatory standards, identifying efficiency opportunities, streamlining operating processes, and supporting production readiness during software development projects are also crucial. The role also guides the SRE technology roadmap, evaluates and implements industry-leading technical solutions, fosters cross-functional collaboration, supports team adoption of new technologies, and optimizes processes for agility and cost management. Additionally, the Director will build and develop a high-performing team, set clear performance goals, support career development, attract and retain talent, and foster a culture of continuous learning and excellence.

Requirements

  • 8+ years' experience in production operations across multiple technologies and platforms
  • 5+ years of related experience in Software Engineering (SRE, DevOps, Cloud)
  • 5+ years of people management experience leading teams of managers, engineers, and operations analysts
  • Proven ability to drive improvements in a complex organization
  • Strong knowledge of SRE and engineering best practices; technical degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience supporting financial services applications or wealth management technology preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Charles River, Envestnet, or similar portfolio management systems
  • Experience with financial data compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning technologies

Responsibilities
