About The Position

This full-time position is responsible for developing, periodically reviewing, and revising policies and evidence-based procedures related to nursing practice and patient care. The role coordinates activities within nursing services related to compliance and implementation of regulatory agency requirements, analyzes and interprets data, and facilitates communication within the leadership team. The Director oversees compliance related to licensure and registration requirements for healthcare professionals and ancillary team members within nursing services, assists with the coordination of nursing projects to achieve organizational goals, and coordinates clinical assignments and academic affiliations for nursing students and other disciplines interfacing with nursing practice. This role also involves interviewing, selecting, and ensuring appropriate supervision and evaluation of team members.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current RN licensure in appropriate state.
  • MSN required. If undergraduate degree is BSN a Master's degree from a health-related program or MBA is acceptable. Must have MSN if undergraduate degree is not BSN.
  • Appropriate professional leadership certification required within 1 year of eligibility for professional certification exam.
  • Must lift a minimum of 10 pounds shoulder high.
  • Intact sense of sight, hearing and finger dexterity.
  • Critical thinking and ability to concentrate required.
  • Must be able to respond quickly in stressful situations.
  • Must speak English in good, understandable terms.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required within the department by the nursing leader.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews, selects, and assures appropriate supervision and evaluation of team members.
