About The Position

The Director of Performance Improvement will be responsible for the implementation of process improvement and operational support initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, service delivery and to create a continuous improvement culture across Luminis Health. This position will be accountable for increasing the awareness and competency level of staff in improving clinical, operational and service performance. This role will provide strong management guidance and direction across all business products and process improvement opportunities using PI (e.g., PDSA, Lean) and change management methodologies.

Requirements

  • Masters’ degree in Business / Finance/ Strategy/Quality Management/ or other appropriate field
  • 7+ years’ experience and demonstrated outcomes using Performance Improvement methodology and principles (e.g., PDSA, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.), preferably in a health care setting
  • 5+ years of progressive management experience, preferably in a health care setting
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, EPIC, and other Luminis Health software applications
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, plan and manage change
  • Knowledge and proficiency on various statistical tools. Varied knowledge of business workflows, operations processes & systems.
  • Experience dealing with senior executive, clinical and stakeholder management
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to contribute to the strategic development of the business as a whole
  • Experience with driving cultural change throughout an organization
  • An innovative, creative approach to problem solving
  • Communication and Influence - able to communicate effectively across a range of stakeholders
  • Leadership – the ability to lead the PI team and influence leaders and teams throughout the health system to integrate an improvement focus into daily operations, attain goals and sustain performance
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making – the ability to quickly understand a situation and take decisive action with buy-in by key stakeholders
  • Lean Six Sigma certification required

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction to his/her team to ensure delivery of business process improvement initiatives through the implementation of predetermined/agreed synergies
  • Champion continuous process improvement, change culture and quality service delivery across Operations. Ensure the timely implementation by directing, guiding others, and applying various operational excellence tools to resolve problems, including providing training where required
  • Lead and execute various projects / initiatives, which are based on the framework of business process improvement of operational excellence, entailing projects ranging from mid-sized process improvements to major business transformation initiatives
  • Correct workload balance across process flows and align to staff productivity objectives
  • Build effective relationships, influence and motivate operations units to ensure their wholehearted commitment to the achievement of operational excellence
  • Supports strategic change, through effective and receptive change management practice and sponsors structured change management.
  • Perform diagnostics on identified areas of business to define and identify the opportunity/problem and propose meaningful, realistic solutions.
  • Monitor, assess and develop required performance management and quality scorecards applicable to the respective functions in order to monitor progress towards established goals.
  • Design and lead workshops for managers and supervisors on performance improvement processes and procedures
  • Contribute to the formulation of strategic and medium term business plans; provide a robust challenge to the businesses and oversee implementation.
  • Perform any other duties or responsibilities consistent with the employee role and assigned by the executive leadership.
