About The Position

This role tracks metrics for high-priority quality and patient safety projects and initiatives at the level of Weill Cornell Medicine in order to improve the quality of care, raise patient satisfaction, lower the rate of medical error, and reduce the risk of liability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of increasing levels of experience and responsibility in healthcare.
  • 2+ years of experience with quality and performance improvement..
  • Ability to work with and effectively communicate with clinical staff and physicians.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Proficient with Tableau, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred
  • Previous experience with data mining and data analytics.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communications, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong background in developing trust and confidence in relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Meets with providers, as well as practice managers, supervisors, and staff to understand workflows and gather information to develop appropriate interventions.
  • Develops guidelines for various quality and patient safety projects and initiatives in collaboration with the quality and patient safety team and departments/divisions.
  • Standardizes provider documentation of review and communication of high-priority clinical policies and guidelines.
  • Measures baseline performance on quality and patient safety priorities and collaborate internally to generate reports from Epic.
  • Generates process maps at the practice level, including detailed workflows around specific follow-up tasks and ownership of those tasks. Assigns responsibility as appropriate.
  • Through automated reports and manual review of charts, generates reports at the practice and provider levels with metrics on performance.
  • Reports metrics to providers, including rates of non-compliance with high-priority clinical policies and guidelines.
  • Build relationships with physicians and practice managers.
  • Identifies opportunities for process redesign, leads small tests of change, and follows metrics in real time for evidence of improvement. Sustains successful changes.
