About The Position

The Director, People Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for the People function, ensuring scalable, compliant, and employee-centered people practices across the organization. This role oversees people operations, talent acquisition, total rewards, learning and development, culture and engagement, and people business partnership, while partnering with executive leadership to align people strategies with business objectives. The Director is accountable for building a high-performing People team, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering a consistent employee experience across the full employee lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership roles within People Operations or HR.
  • 5+ years of experience leading HR teams across multiple functional disciplines.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR operational best practices.
  • Experience leading organizational change, workforce planning, and people strategy at scale.
  • Proven ability to partner with executive leadership and influence business outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Proficiency with HRIS/ATS platforms (paycom, workday, ADP etc.) and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or equivalent project management certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in healthcare or other highly regulated industries.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% between company sites to support leaders, teams, and business operations.

Responsibilities

  • People Strategy and Leadership Partner with executive leadership to align people strategy with business goals, growth plans, and organizational priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on workforce strategy, organizational design, and people-related risk.
  • Lead, coach, and develop People Operations leaders and teams across multiple functional lanes.
  • Establish clear operating models, roles, and accountability across the People function.
  • People Operations and Systems Provide oversight of employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, offboarding, employee data management, and HR operations.
  • Ensure HR systems integrity, data governance, and scalable operational processes.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience.
  • Ensure consistent application of people policies and practices across business units and locations.
  • Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning Oversee talent acquisition strategy and execution in partnership with business leaders.
  • Ensure recruiting processes are scalable, compliant, and aligned with workforce planning needs.
  • Monitor hiring outcomes, metrics, and time-to-fill to support business growth and talent quality.
  • Total Rewards and Compliance Provide strategic oversight of compensation, benefits, leave management, and workers’ compensation programs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and industry-specific regulations.
  • Partner with finance and leadership on compensation planning, budgeting, and pay practices.
  • Oversee audits, filings, and regulatory requirements related to people programs.
  • Learning, Development, and Leadership Effectiveness Oversee learning and development strategy, including onboarding learning, role-based development, leadership programs, and compliance training.
  • Partner with leaders to strengthen manager effectiveness, performance accountability, and leadership capability.
  • Ensure development programs align with business needs and succession planning efforts.
  • Culture, Engagement, and Employee Experience Lead culture and engagement strategy, including orientation, recognition, internal communications, and employee listening.
  • Oversee employee engagement surveys, pulse checks, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Translate engagement data into actionable insights and organizational interventions.
  • Champion company values and foster an inclusive, high-performance culture.
  • People Business Partnership and Employee Relations Oversee People Business Partner support to leaders across performance management, talent processes, and organizational change.
  • Ensure employee relations matters are handled fairly, consistently, and in compliance with company policy and legal requirements.
  • Partner with legal counsel as needed on complex or high-risk people issues.
