About The Position

Crunchyroll is seeking a highly collaborative People Business Partner to support its Los Angeles-based business leaders and teams. This role reports into the Sr. Director, People Business Partnerships & EMEA and is based in the Los Angeles office. The People Business Partner will partner with senior business leaders to translate business strategy into talent and organizational priorities that enable long-term business success. They will lead initiatives aligned with the enterprise HR strategy that strengthen organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, leadership capability, succession planning, employee engagement, and organizational change. This Director-level role supports the growth and scaling of teams in a fast-paced environment where HR infrastructure continues to evolve, requiring a strategic mindset, operational excellence, and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization. The successful candidate will move quickly from problem to solution, ensuring alignment with enterprise HR practices and policies and local employment laws. They will have a data-informed mindset, a high tolerance for ambiguity, the ability to influence without authority, and will help leaders navigate complex People challenges while promoting a high-performing, inclusive culture.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner or in a related role
  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, or a related field and/or equivalent working experience.
  • Solid knowledge of HR disciplines, including talent acquisition, employee relations, organizational design, workforce planning, performance management, compensation, and local employment laws
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills, with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment when navigating complex or ambiguous situations
  • Hands-on experience with day-to-day people operations
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion
  • Thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with driven, thoughtful colleagues

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted People Partner for leaders and employees, providing practical, timely guidance on HR related matters while driving people initiatives that align with HR enterprise practices and standards.
  • Collaborate with centralized and cross-functional HR CoE teams (e.g., Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Total Rewards, Talent Development, Employee Relations, IT, Finance) to ensure smooth execution of people solutions.
  • Serve as the People Business Partner to senior leaders across the assigned U.S.-based client group, aligning people strategies with business objectives and long-term organizational priorities.
  • In partnership with the Sr. Director, PBP, work with business leaders to implement talent strategies, organizational design recommendations, workforce planning, and leadership initiatives that drive organizational effectiveness.
  • Provide executive coaching and strategic guidance to senior leaders on organizational effectiveness, leadership development, performance management, succession planning, employee engagement, organizational change, and employee relations.
  • Partner closely with the Sr. Director, PBP to lead complex organizational initiatives, including restructures, operating model design, workforce planning, talent reviews, succession planning, and change management efforts.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative people data to identify organizational trends, inform workforce decisions, evaluate organizational effectiveness, and influence business strategy.
  • Lead complex employee relations matters with sound judgment, balancing business needs, employee experience, and organizational risk.
  • Champion Crunchyroll's culture, values, and leadership expectations while fostering an inclusive, high-performing employee experience.
  • Build partnerships across the global People organization to ensure alignment, consistency, and execution of enterprise-wide People programs.
  • Drive the implementation and adoption of enterprise People initiatives by leading thoughtful change management and communication strategies.
  • Lead, coach, and develop People team members or project teams as appropriate, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
