About The Position

The People team is responsible for all aspects of the candidate and employee experience across eBay! We drive business performance, recruiting, learning and development, compensation, benefits, people experience shared services, and people tools and technologies – and be responsible for the continuing evolution of the company's culture. The role of Director, People Business Partner (PBP) at eBay supports Vice Presidents or specific organizations. It provides dedicated strategic and hands-on support to lead and grow their business. PBPs bring deep expertise and problem-solving skills to work with company executives. They diagnose needs and apply broad experience to tackle important business challenges. PBPs play a significant role in activating enterprise people programs and human capital plans. You will apply your expertise in the areas of business, talent management, team effectiveness, organizational transformation and change, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement and other people-related fields to deliver scalable solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in Human Resources or Organizational Development within a complex global organization.
  • Experience partnering with Vice President-level leaders and supporting global leadership teams.
  • Experience with talent management, leadership development and coaching, team facilitation, organizational design, employee engagement, organizational sensing and diagnosis, and learning and development.
  • Strong critical thinking, strategic problem-solving and project management capabilities.
  • Seeks new opportunities and challenges with an action orientation, high energy and dedication.
  • Significant expertise in organizational change and culture building, with experience leading enterprise-wide transformation initiatives.
  • Moves with agility through people, process and policy-related dynamics.
  • Ability to maintain productive interpersonal relationships and help others do the same.
  • Strong executive partnership skills with the ability to quickly build trusted relationships, establish credibility, bring a proactive point of view, and influence senior business leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior business leaders to translate their strategy and goals into implications for talent and organizational capabilities, and facilitate the changes needed to enable them to deliver the desired outcomes.
  • Support the delivery of our People team programs, systems and procedures. Partner with COE account teams to influence program design and deliver enterprise programs, employee engagement support planning, and organizational restructuring and change management support.
  • Use data, discern patterns and connections in information, identify themes, and effectively influence executive leaders to develop clear and focused plans of action for improvement.
  • Quickly build trusting relationships that allow you to provide practical, as well as forward-thinking, solutions and services. Apply emotional intelligence and situational awareness to adapt your approach, build credibility and confidence with senior executives.
  • Apply critical thinking skills, sound judgment with minimal direction, and take appropriate action on highly complex organizational issues.
  • Advise and facilitate through the full lifecycle of change: planning, implementation, and reinforcement, ensuring there is minimal disruption to the business and the desired impact of changes are achieved. Offer a systemic approach to managing change for both individuals and organizations.
  • Build high-performing teams, partnering with executive leaders to support team development at all stages, including new organization set up and teams leading significant business initiatives.
  • Partner with senior leadership teams by developing and facilitating customized interventions that enhance team performance and effectiveness. Provide analysis, consultation, gap assessment, team facilitation and solutions. Develop, design and collaborate on organizational effectiveness services and tools.
  • Lead complex and multi-faceted human capital initiatives across organizations and global sites through the full lifecycle of projects.
