About The Position

This position provides leadership and oversees all Out-of-School-Time (OST) programs, ensuring efficiency and smooth operations. This includes creating the foundation and expectations for included programs, training program staff, guiding, observing and coaching program leadership, gathering and analyzing data, reviewing reports, monitoring staff's performance and progress, and resolving issues should any arise. This role works with program leadership on curricula, leads the hiring process and supervises staff. Moreover, the OST Director leads and encourages the workforce to reach goals while implementing the organizational policies and regulations, developing new ones when necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum level BA degree, Masters’ preferred.
  • CDA requirements, preferably some knowledge of Social Services.
  • Five years’ experience in childcare/afterschool care with children ages five through teens.
  • 20 hours Child Care Worker Certification Course
  • 10 hours developmentally appropriate practice course
  • 30 hours of annual in-service training
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Director Credential
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds for office-related duties and provide physical assistance in the transportation of children when necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters’ preferred.
  • preferably some knowledge of Social Services.

Responsibilities

  • Hires, supervises, evaluates and dismisses all program leadership & staff members
  • Fosters professionalism, collegiality, and ethical conduct in the faculty
  • Ensures safety standards and practices are always implemented on site
  • Provides for the professional development of the faculty
  • Stimulates and participates in the dialog about educating and learning within OST programs
  • Supervises the selection of curricula, class schedules, assessments and all aspects of the academic program
  • Optimizes the physical learning environment and technology in all instructional areas.
  • Administers the school’s discipline policies and standards of conduct
  • Supervises and collaborates with the organization’s support systems, such as counseling, health and wellness, etc.
  • Orders all program supplies
  • Manages and maintains program budgets quarterly
  • Submits all program invoices and reimbursements to finance department monthly
  • Collaborates with HR regarding contracts, salaries, job assignments, job orientation, performance evaluation, retentions and dismissals.
  • Supervises and assists the admissions functions of the school, including recruitment programs, internal marketing, external outreach, information dissemination, and applicant testing and interviewing
  • Spearheads the admissions decision-making process, including administration of program scholarships, financial aid and grants
  • Adheres to all grant deliverables, expectations and deadlines
  • Plans and coordinate all OST parent meetings, open houses and family engagement events
  • Monitors student enrollment, capacity and program fidelity
  • Ensures program compliance of Health Department, Department of Children and Families, and all other government & local reporting agencies.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Attend all required trainings, workshops, staff meetings, and parent meetings
  • Maintain valid driver’s license and insurance coverage
