The Operations Transformation Organization (OTO) within Schwab is dedicated to advancing capabilities through data, automation, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). OTO spearheads AI transformation within Operational Services, defining strategy and execution, and integrating AI into workflows to boost productivity, improve decision-making, and achieve better business outcomes. By developing AI-first processes, intelligent automation, and tools that empower the workforce, OTO is building a more agile, scalable, and future-ready organization. This role is crucial for scaling AI as a core capability across Operations and the wider firm. The Director, Ops AI Strategic Execution & Portfolio Lead will report to the Managing Director of Ops AI and will be responsible for leading a portfolio of high-impact initiatives. This includes translating AI strategy into actionable execution and delivering significant improvements in scale, efficiency, risk management, and client experience. The role involves end-to-end management of the Ops AI portfolio, from prioritization to delivery and enterprise-wide scaling, ensuring AI initiatives yield measurable business value and lasting impact. Collaboration with Operations, Enterprise AI, Data, Technology, and other cross-functional leaders is key. The position requires driving disciplined execution, establishing governance and execution frameworks, and embedding value measurement practices to move solutions from pilot to production. This is a highly visible role that demands aligning senior stakeholders, navigating complex trade-offs, and building high-performing teams to deliver integrated, AI-enabled outcomes that support an AI-driven operating model and provide a long-term competitive advantage.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience leading large scale transformation portfolios, ideally financial services or consulting
- 1+ years of experience driving AI transformation initiatives in large, complex organizations
- Proven track record delivering measurable business outcomes, at scale, through complex, cross-enterprise initiatives
- Strong portfolio management capabilities, including prioritization, sequencing, and value tracking
- Demonstrated ability to quickly mobilize teams with a bias for action in fast-paced environments
- Strong leadership, partnership, and influencing skills in a highly matrixed environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to synthesize complex topics for multi-level audiences, from senior executives to daily users
- Demonstrated team leadership capabilities, effectively organizing highly performing, multi-discipline teams to meet changing business challenges
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end execution of the Ops AI portfolio, from prioritization through delivery and enterprise scaling.

- Partner closely with Operations, Enterprise AI, Data, Technology, and cross-functional leaders.
