About The Position

The GRM Operational Risk Shared Services Team is responsible for the development, strategic direction, maintenance and monitoring effectiveness of the operational risk program and associated tools and methodology. As Director, Enterprise Change Management your role is to ensure an effective practice to ensure the program are aligned to regulatory requirements such as OSFI E-21. This role partners closely with the Senior Director, Change Risk, External Events and ORM Enablement to provide operational risk support in facilitating the development, maintenance and monitoring the effectiveness of the Enterprise Change Management framework and sound risk management practices across all of RBC’s business platforms and corporate functions. Further this role works to coordinate with regional requirements, and alignment to Enterprise.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in risk management with deep knowledge of banking regulatory requirements and best practices related to global risk management practices
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment, managing a diverse group of executive stakeholders
  • Highly proficient in stakeholder management, change management, strategy development, people management
  • Strong ability to influence, interpret feedback, motivate and effect change
  • Expert in risk management methodologies

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate degree or designation / certification associated with Risk Management
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to partner with multiple stakeholders across a matrixed environment
  • Direct operational risk experience

Responsibilities

  • Position yourself as the trusted advisor on Enterprise Change Management, leveraging analytics, independent reviews, and industry insights to shape RBC’s forward-looking risk program
  • Spearhead strategic direction for Enterprise Change Management programs, owning stakeholder engagement, tool evaluation, and implementation
  • Transform how RBC manages operational risk by identifying and championing emerging practice requirements in partnership with key stakeholders
  • Champion compliance excellence and elevate operational risk standards across all Lines of Defence, Advisory & Oversight teams, and external stakeholders
  • Define technology and systems requirements that enable RBC’s operational risk program to stay ahead of emerging threats and drive enterprise-wide capability
  • Equip all Lines of Defence with modern tools and resources to proactively manage operational risk and maintain competitive advantage
  • Define clear goals, objectives, and deliverables that shape ORM and stakeholder priorities
  • Lead strategic direction for enterprise-wide change initiatives and drive the multi-year practice roadmap
