About The Position

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Operational Risk Coverage (Fund & Investor Solutions) to join our Operational Risk team. This role is located in New York City. In this role, you’ll make an impact by defining and executing the global operational risk management framework across the FIS Platform, leading the identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation of key operations risks in the FIS Platform and dependent platforms. You will ensure resilience and control effectiveness in large scale global platforms and products, engage with product and technology teams for safe and scalable innovation, and provide risk management challenge for change initiatives. You will also anticipate emerging risks, drive alignment between global standards and local requirements, and partner with Platform leadership to embed a strong risk culture. Communication of risk insights to senior leadership, driving continuous improvement, overseeing risk incidents, and preparing executive-level presentations are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

10-12 years prior work experience in a global, financial or professional services firm; fund services experience in first or second line of defense is essential.
Strong working knowledge of global regulatory environment and risk frameworks.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to influence a diverse set of stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent technical and strategic risk skills including analytical, critical thinking and data analytics.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to interact with colleagues and present to internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to learn, assimilate new information quickly and adjust to a changing environment.
Bachelor’s degree with a focus in business, finance, or related discipline

Responsibilities

Define and execute the global operational risk management framework across the FIS Platform.
Lead the identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation of key operations risks in the FIS Platform and the dependent platforms that support the FIS products.
Ensure resilience and control effectiveness in large scale global platforms and products
Engage with product and technology teams to ensure safe and scalable innovation and appropriate protocols to mitigate execution risk.
Provide effective risk management challenge and oversight of change initiatives, including new or modified products, process changes and client onboarding, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated effectively. Consider the impact to FIS products as the result of market and industry changes
Anticipate emerging risks (geopolitical, macroeconomic, regulatory, technology) and advise leadership on strategic response.
Drive alignment between global standards and local operational requirements.
Partner with Platform leadership to embed a strong risk culture, identify risk areas, concerns, patterns & trends and drive adherence to the policies, regulations, and industry standards. Support ongoing education of stakeholders through tailored training risk related matters.
Communicate risk insights effectively to senior leadership and stakeholders to support informed risk-taking and integration of risk management into decision-making and business processes.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to simplify risk processes and leverage technology for enhanced risk oversight.
Oversee and review risk incidents and ensure remediation efforts are appropriate to minimize impact and prevent recurrence.
Prepare concise executive-level presentations and reports for governance and regulatory engagements.
