About The Position

The Director of Warehouse & Logistics Operations is responsible for leading and optimizing enterprise-wide warehousing, inventory management, transportation, shipping and receiving, and material distribution activities across multiple locations. This leader will oversee teams responsible for ensuring the timely, compliant, and cost-effective movement of materials, supplies, equipment, and patient samples between facilities, laboratories, and external partners. The Director will develop and execute logistics strategies that support operational excellence, scalability, quality, regulatory compliance, and exceptional service levels. This role requires strong leadership of geographically dispersed teams, expertise in supply chain and transportation operations, and experience operating in highly regulated environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in warehouse, logistics, transportation, or supply chain leadership.
  • 5+ years leading multi-site operations and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Experience managing shipping, receiving, transportation, and distribution networks.
  • Demonstrated success developing scalable logistics and warehouse processes.
  • Strong experience with inventory management systems, ERP platforms, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, diagnostics, laboratory services, biotechnology, medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of specimen transportation, chain-of-custody requirements, and temperature-controlled logistics.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • APICS, CSCP, CLTD, or similar professional certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Direct warehouse operations across multiple sites, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant storage and handling of inventory and materials.
  • Lead warehouse managers, supervisors, and logistics personnel across geographically dispersed locations.
  • Establish standardized operating procedures, performance metrics, and best practices across all facilities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, service levels, and cost reduction to support scaling operations.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing, workforce planning, training, and succession planning across all warehouse operations.
  • Oversee enterprise-wide shipping, receiving, transportation, and distribution activities.
  • Manage the movement of materials, supplies, equipment, and inventory between company facilities, laboratories, and third-party partners.
  • Develop transportation strategies that optimize cost, speed, reliability, and service levels.
  • Manage relationships with transportation providers, couriers, and logistics vendors.
  • Monitor transportation performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversee logistics operations supporting the transport and delivery of patient specimens to multiple laboratory locations.
  • Ensure specimen transportation processes maintain chain-of-custody requirements, temperature controls, and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with laboratory operations and quality teams to ensure specimen integrity and on-time delivery.
  • Develop contingency plans to mitigate transportation disruptions and minimize operational risk.
  • Ensure accurate inventory control and material availability across all locations.
  • Lead cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, and inventory optimization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, laboratory operations, and manufacturing teams to align inventory strategies with business requirements.
  • Monitor inventory performance metrics and implement actions to improve inventory accuracy and reduce waste.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, quality standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain adherence to transportation, hazardous materials, specimen handling, and safety regulations where applicable.
  • Partner with Quality, Regulatory, and EHS teams to support audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop long-term warehousing and logistics strategies that support organizational growth and operational scalability.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and technology implementation.
  • Establish KPIs and operational dashboards to monitor performance across all sites.
  • Manage departmental budgets, capital expenditures, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Laboratory Operations, Procurement, Quality, Facilities, and Finance leadership.

  • Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, education, job-related skills, job duties, and business need.
  • Primary Location Base Pay Range: $199,300 - $274,050
  • Other US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $169,405 - $232,943
  • If the role is performed in Colorado, the pay range for this job is: $179,370 - $246,645
