About The Position

The Training and Compliance Director is responsible for developing and delivering agency-wide training, quality assurance, risk management, and compliance systems. This position ensures employees and service providers receive the training and support necessary to deliver high-quality services while maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, contractual, licensing, and organizational requirements. The Training and Compliance Director promotes a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, safety, and professional development by monitoring compliance trends, evaluating training effectiveness, and implementing systems as necessary.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be a currently certified instructor of most Core training classes- CPR/First Aid, Article 9, PROUD, ANE, DCW, FWA, and PBS.
  • Must have a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in training, quality assurance, compliance, risk management, or program administration.
  • Experience working within developmental disability service settings required.
  • Must have a valid Arizona Driver’s License, a passing 39-month Arizona motor vehicle record, and must have a reliable means of transportation with current insurance and registration.
  • Must be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card and pass background checks.
  • Ability to develop engaging training materials and facilitate training for diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and implement solutions.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and training best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Demonstrated computer experience with Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel and e-mail at a minimum.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills – be able to develop and present ideas and other materials in a conference room setting.
  • Dependable and timely with both meeting project and other deadlines as well as with maintaining a work schedule.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and risk management principles.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor's degree in Human Services, Education, Business Administration, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience conducting audits, developing corrective action plans, interpreting regulatory requirements, and developing and delivering professional training programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with the policies and procedures of Family Partners and the Division of Developmental Disabilities.
  • Develop, implement, and deliver agency-wide training programs for employees and service providers.
  • Coordinate and facilitate new and ongoing required trainings including CPR/First Aid, Article 9, PROUD (formerly Prevention and Support), Recognizing Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation (ANE), DCW training, Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA), and Positive Behavior Supports (PBS).
  • Coordinate and facilitate initial licensing training for applicants in the Developmental Home program.
  • Create, update, and maintain training curricula, training materials, manuals, presentations, and competency assessments.
  • Plan and conduct training courses accommodating the needs and schedules of employees and service providers.
  • Maintain internal rosters and submit rosters as required to external vendors or contractors.
  • Coordinate ongoing professional development opportunities that support employee and service provider growth and service excellence.
  • Ensure training programs align with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct remediation training and corrective training when performance or compliance concerns are identified.
  • Coordinate and facilitate community workshops, educational events, and compliance-related training initiatives.
  • Monitor training effectiveness through evaluations, competency testing, observations, and outcome measures.
  • Monitor federal, state, licensing, contractual, and organizational requirements and communicate changes to leadership.
  • Complete file audits to ensure documentation accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain file review systems, audit tools, and corrective action processes.
  • Track, monitor, and ensure timely completion of corrective action plans resulting from audits, reviews, or investigations.
  • Monitor incident reporting trends and conduct data analysis to identify systemic concerns, training needs, and risk areas.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce incidents and improve service quality and safety.
  • Recommend policy, procedure, and training modifications based on compliance findings, audit results, and incident trends.
  • Assist with emergency preparedness, safety planning, and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Provide leadership and consultation to administrative employees regarding training, compliance, quality assurance, and corrective action initiatives.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to ensure consistent implementation of policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, ethical practices, and person-centered services.
  • Participate in strategic planning initiatives related to workforce development, quality assurance, and organizational compliance.
