About The Position

The Department of Psychology at the University of Maine is seeking a Director of the Psychological Services Center. This is a one-year, fixed-length, part-time (0.50 FTE), in-person professional position with administrative and supervisory responsibilities. The role offers opportunities for a clinical psychologist interested in combining leadership and mentorship. The Director will be responsible for the administration and leadership of the Psychological Services Center (PSC), which serves as the in-house training clinic for the doctoral program in clinical psychology. This program is APA accredited and is the only accredited clinical psychology program in the state. All doctoral students begin their practicum training at the PSC under the supervision of the Director and clinical supervisors, carrying PSC cases throughout their training. The Director will collaborate with clinical faculty to ensure students' clinical experiences align with the program's mission and values.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in psychology with a specialization in clinical psychology from an APA-accredited training program.
  • APA-accredited predoctoral internship.
  • Licensed to practice psychology in Maine, preferably within one year of employment.

  • Ability to travel normally requiring a driver's license.
  • Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management.
  • Strong clinical skills including: Psychological assessment, Psychotherapy, and Consultation.
  • Ability to use independent judgement, and to manage and impart confidential information.
  • Skill in preparing and maintaining patient records.
