The Director of OLLI, under general direction of the Associate Dean of the College of Liberal & Creative Arts (LCA), is a managerial role responsible for providing leadership and direction in the growth, development and implementation of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) as an innovative model for instruction and community engagement for people over 50 years old. OLLI creates opportunities for continued learning with programs and activities for social and cultural enrichment in a supportive environment. Lead responsibilities include supervising professional, volunteer and student staff, overseeing the academic program, including recruiting and hiring instructors, creating each term’s schedule, budgeting; membership development and support services; volunteer committees; marketing and planning. The Director is also responsible for supervising staff and student workers working for OLLI. The Director is the principal point of contact to The Bernard Osher Foundation, which is the source of OLLI's major endowment, and with the Osher National Resource Center, and 124 OLLIs nationally.
