About The Position

Pax8 is hiring a Director of Technical Accounting and Special Projects (Remote, USA) to strengthen enterprise-wide accounting policy and lead high-impact Finance initiatives that keep us audit-ready as our marketplace and AI-powered capabilities scale. This is a high-visibility leadership opportunity at the intersection of technical accounting, strategic transformation, and modern financial systems. You’ll own the “source of truth” for accounting guidance across the business, while also leading Finance programs that shape how Pax8 grows — including our conversion of revenue accounting to U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) and the implementation of a Revenue Management System (RMS). You’ll join a company embracing smarter technology and AI-enabled ways of working — and you’ll help ensure our accounting foundation evolves just as quickly and confidently.

Requirements

  • CPA required, with a strong foundation in accounting principles and policy ownership
  • Extensive expertise in U.S. GAAP, including revenue-related topics and complex, judgement-based accounting conclusions
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supporting revenue conversions, restatements, or high-stakes technical accounting projects
  • Proven ability to lead major cross-functional initiatives (systems, process redesign, controls, or Finance transformation programs)
  • Confidence partnering with auditors and senior stakeholders — with a track record of clear, structured responses and documentation
  • Strength in drafting technical memos, policy guidance, and position papers that are thorough, practical, and defensible
  • Experience with ERP and/or financial systems implementations; revenue-focused systems experience is highly valued
  • Comfortable operating in high-growth, technology-led environments where priorities evolve and ambiguity is part of the job
  • Must hold valid right to work in USA.

Responsibilities

  • Own accounting policy & technical guidance: Monitor evolving standards and translate them into practical, consistent accounting positions across Pax8.

  • Lead strategic Finance programs: Drive Finance initiatives from scope to execution (process, controls, stakeholder alignment, delivery). Current priorities include U.S. GAAP revenue conversion and RMS implementation.
  • Be a key audit partner: Serve as a primary liaison for external auditors, enabling timely fieldwork and clear issue resolution through strong documentation and coordination.
  • Create audit-ready memos & position papers: Build and maintain technical memos, accounting policies, and support documentation that stand up to scrutiny.
