About The Position

The Director of the TCS Early Education Center will focus on direct parent engagement, ensuring facility compliance with state licensing regulations, upholding operational standards, and directly supervising Assistant Directors and administrative staff. This role requires a strong understanding of early childhood development, state and local standards, and the ability to foster a positive and professional Christian environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Solid experience in a licensed facility for at least 3-5 years.
  • 2-3 years management/supervisory experience is required.
  • CPR certified.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems efficiently and effectively while maintaining good working relationships and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional attitude and poise.
  • Proven ability to motivate, encourage others and foster a positive work environment.
  • Ability to exercise appropriate independent judgment calls.
  • Knowledge of state and local standards.
  • Knowledge of Early Childhood Development and standards.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be or become a member of Trinity Church.

Nice To Haves

  • CDA is highly preferred.
  • 6-8 years proven work history preferred in related area.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and comply with licensing rules and regulations, including annual training requirements.
  • Manage safety practices, including current fire, tornado, and SOS drills, and maintain CPR certification.
  • Supervise and manage the EEC Assistant Directors, Receptionist/Admin.
  • Work closely with Assistant Directors on employee discipline and corrective action.
  • Approve and oversee parent enrollment paperwork and communication.
  • Develop and maintain personnel policies, including job responsibilities, requirements, and training provisions.
  • Work with HR to update job descriptions as needed.
  • Oversee employee records, including training and background checks, and ensure appropriate staff assignments.
  • Set up, communicate, and distribute the yearly calendar.
  • Work with A/R to manage the monthly Aging Report and meet with the Superintendent and business office regarding past due accounts.
  • Meet and greet new parents, provide tours, and familiarize families with EEC teachers and classrooms.
  • Be available for parents, teachers, and children for counsel.
  • Support Assistant Directors with staff training, including new staff orientation, in-service programs, continuing education, teaching demonstrations, morning devotions, and employee evaluations.
  • Ensure classrooms reflect a professional Christian environment.
  • Ensure classrooms/areas and teacher needs are being met.
  • Observe in classrooms and ensure facilities (bathrooms, playground) meet state licensing requirements.
  • Ensure teachers are trained in positive discipline techniques.
  • Assist teachers in contacting parents regarding sending children home according to EEC guidelines.
