Another Source is partnering with the University of Pittsburgh in the search for their next Director of Student Involvement. The Division of Student Affairs is equally committed to creating a campus where students find a sense of belonging, develop as leaders, and build experiences that extend well beyond the classroom. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Student Engagement, the Director of Student Involvement will provide strategic leadership for one of the University's most visible and dynamic departments. This leader will oversee Campus Programs, the Student Organization Resource Center (SORC), Leadership Development, and ExperiencePitt—the University's student engagement platform that supports more than 800 registered student organizations. The role offers the opportunity to lead a talented team of 25 professional staff and 85 student employees while partnering with colleagues across the University to strengthen student engagement, leadership development, campus traditions, and co-curricular learning. The Director will also serve as the primary advisor to the Undergraduate Student Government Board, helping student leaders navigate governance, institutional partnerships, and leadership development. This position is ideal for a collaborative, student-centered leader who enjoys building strong teams, fostering campus partnerships, using data to drive continuous improvement, and creating meaningful opportunities for students to connect, lead, and thrive.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Education, Organizational Leadership, Counseling, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Six (6) or more years of progressively responsible leadership experience in student affairs, campus activities, student engagement, leadership development, student organizations, residence life, orientation, student success, or related areas.
  • Experience supervising and developing professional staff.
  • Demonstrated experience managing departmental operations, budgets, and strategic initiatives.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive environments where all students can thrive.
  • Ability to utilize assessment, data, and outcomes to support continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience advising student government or comparable student leadership organizations.
  • Experience leading complex student engagement programs at a large college or university.
  • Familiarity with student development theory and higher education best practices.
  • Experience navigating complex student issues, campus partnerships, and organizational change.
